The photographic exhibition “Frauen und Arbeit, donne e lavoro” takes a look at daily life of ages past in Alto Adige.

There is a strong link with the culture of Alto Adige in much of the work done by Werbecompany Merano. Lately for example, we have been responsible for a photographic exhibition about women and Work, titled “Frauen und Arbeit, donne e lavoro”.

This exhibition of photographs has been put forward by the department for “Istruzione, cultura e servizi sociali” of the Municipality of Merano and documents the daily life of women in the Alto Adige in a series of extraordinary images from another era. It is made up of photos taken between 40 and 105 years ago from the provincial archive of Bolzano, the historical archive of Merano and private collections. Apart from showing women engaged in general activities considered typical for women at the time, such as agriculture and charity, the images on display also depict women engaged in activities not usually considered to be “women's work”.

Our team was entrusted with aspects concerning the organisation of the photographic exhibition. This included the display of the photographs, the design of the boards and captions and the publicity material using the corporate design of the Municipality of Merano which included the invitations, a banner, posters to be displayed in shops and large posters with four different subjects alluding to the exhibition, to be put up around town. One of these subjects is a historic photo taken inside the Old Bathhouse which houses the exhibition.

The doors of the Old Bathhouse in Via Otto Huber 8, Merano are open from Friday the 18th of March until the 10th of April.
