Merano has always been a magnet for poets and artists. The newly designed Promenade of Poetry builds on this tradition, blending art, nature, and poetry into a unique experience. In collaboration with Merano’s Public Library (Stadtbibliothek), we have reinterpreted this unique walking trail to engage visitors on both a visual and emotional level, highlighting the connection between poetry and nature.
Our task was to develop a communication concept that would give the promenade a clear structure, provide information, and enhance its poetic heritage. We designed the entire project from a communication perspective, including the small information panels by the benches, the informational brochure, the website, invitations, and posters. The brochure contains a clear map showing the location of each bench and the verse engraved on it, inspiring visitors to take a poetic stroll.
We also developed a website to digitally showcase the Promenade of Poetry. It focuses on providing quick access to information and features a design that adapts seamlessly to any device, capturing the promenade’s poetic atmosphere. Visitors will find structured access to all essential information and can connect directly to the Hearonymus audio guide to learn more about the poets and their works.
We designed compact information panels along the promenade, placed near the benches. The understated elegance of these panels draws attention to the essentials: the poet’s name and a QR code that provides access to additional digital content.
